A Bushel of Fun for Ruby's 1st Birthday

Designing custom pieces for events is one of my favorite parts of my job and one I don’t think I talk about enough! Last month, Ruby turned one and I made sure all the little details were just right to make the day extra special for this sweet little girl! For this fall party, Ruby’s parents chose the theme “The Apple Of Our Eye Is Turning One!”

We began with the invitations where we used a watercolor apple with a pink banner and gingham pattern for the perfect amount of girly flair. The design continued onto the envelope with the guest’s address and the return address. Not only did this look great but it also saved Ruby’s mom, Amanda, time getting them ready to go in the mail!

The designs continued with pieces throughout the party. With a table full of food, we continued the design on food tags to label each item. Even though foods may look self explanatory on a table, this is a great way to indicate to your guests if an item is spicy, gluten free or has a unique dipping sauce with it! Amanda decorated the table with the cutest red truck with apples in the back and Amy Lynne Originals did a beautiful flower arrangements that even had apples in it!

What party is complete without good drinks? We made it easy for guests to see their options with a drink list!

A first birthday party isn’t complete without a smash cake so decorating the high chair with a “ONE” banner was a must! I had so much fun making the paper “ONE” banner along with a “Happy Birthday Ruby” banner. These were fun additions to the high chair area while everyone was watching Ruby and taking pictures!

Plus, who doesn’t like watching a one year old with a cake?! Isn’t Ruby the cutest?

As a thank you to the guests that attended the party, they gave out the sweetest party favors! Ruby’s Grandmother B made homemade apple butter that was packaged in the cutest little mason jars with custom stickers on top. We designed a sign let people know to take a favor on their way out and who made the treat!

Amanda didn’t leave anyone out and also had favors for Ruby’s friends! There was a basket of the Dr. Seuss book, “Ten Apples Up On Top”. Then, we added stickers on each book that said “Thanks a bushel for celebrating with me. Love, Ruby”. I love the gingham bow added to the basket too!

I love the added touch of putting one of the books out for everyone to sign as a guest book with well wishes for Ruby on her 1st birthday!

Also, can we talk about how beautiful Ruby’s birthday cake was?

I had so much fun working with Ruby's parents to design this first birthday party for Ruby! Are you planning a birthday party or shower that you’d like to work with me on? If so, I’d love to chat with you! Send me an email here or use the contact form here.
